Mataji Raghaletha has spent years serving Krishna and supporting devotees with unwavering faith, kindness, and dedication. Today, she needs our help.
We are raising $1,850 to help Mataji Raghaletha prepare for her upcoming kidney transplant and begin a healthy new chapter of her life.
For many years, Mataji Raghaletha has been living with Stage 4 chronic kidney disease caused by bilateral kidney hypoplasia. Since 2014, she has been officially recognized as having a disability and has depended on bicarbonate hemodialysis three times a week, with each treatment lasting four hours.
Before the war in Ukraine, she worked in a call center where her employer kindly accommodated her demanding treatment schedule. After the war began, the company ceased operations, and since then she has been unable to return to work because of her ongoing medical condition and intensive dialysis treatments.
Now there is hope. A kidney transplant is expected in the near future, but before it can take place she urgently needs surgery to remove her tonsils. After the transplant, she will also require rehabilitation to support her recovery and give the new kidney the best possible chance to succeed.
Those who know Mataji Raghaletha describe her as a devotee whose life is centered on service to Krishna. She joined ISKCON in 2016, became a disciple of His Holiness Niranjana Swami, and received initiation in 2022.
Despite her fragile health, she continues to inspire others through her devotional service. She regularly leads kirtans in the temple, has organized the weekly Mataji program for the past five years, writes heartfelt poetry glorifying Krishna, coordinates beautiful garlands for the Deities, serves as a pujari, lovingly cooks prasadam, participates in sankirtan, organizes Ekadashi programs, and recently began giving online classes on the Srimad-Bhagavatam for the ISKCON Poltava community.
