Sastrakrit prabhu is telling about how Mykolaiv yatra now lives.
This is the city closest to the frontline in the South of Ukraine. It is daily bombarded with projectiles. Most devotees have been evacuated to safer regions. But still, there are devotees who are still staying there: they cannot leave their parents behind, someone is in such poor health that they cannot survive the relocation. The temple is still holding everyday programs and Sunday feast programs. The Food for Life program is a crucial element in the city's social life - people come to get hot prasadam and Srila Prabhupada's books. The locals have always loved harinamas on the streets, but now there is special meaning attached to harinamas - it is a symbol that spiritual life continues even when everything around collapses. It is quite interesting that the construction works done in the yatra just before the war had to do with repairing the basement... It was really destiny. Now devotees often go down there because of air raids. The devotees remain enthusiastic in serving Srila Prabhupada's mission and are confident that things will get better. They are very humble and hardworking. Caring for these wonderful devotees is the source of great joy for us.
The amount of monthly expenses is USD 1650. Expenses include maintaining elderly devotees who have been evacuated to safer locations. Personally or through the efforts of your community, you can take patronage over the Mykolaiv Yatra.

Therefore, now these Vaishnavas connect their lives with New Mayapura. It is not surprising that New Mayapura’s expenditures have increased many-fold: it is necessary to purchase food, fabrics and hygiene products, to pay utility bills …

Yet despite all the difficulties of martial law, the community is successful in maintaining the atmosphere of trust, devotion, love and care. The devotees who came here are provided with everything they need: accommodation, prasadam, personal items and even clothes. And, of course, they take part in daily spiritual programs, serve the Deities and each other. The managers are making every effort to ensure that the devotees in New Mayapur feel protected on all levels: physical, psychological and spiritual. The congregation spends are USD 6,000 to cover monthly bhoga and utility bills.

The main task for New Mayapur now is to increase its energy self-sufficiency as the vital infrastructure of Ukraine is being destroyed including power plants and electricity distribution networks. Now there are around 100 Vaishnava refugees in the center.

In a small town of Chortkiv, western Ukraine, the young family of Dhruva-kumara Prabhu took the responsibility in Srila Prabhupada’s mission. They maintain the temple and arrange preaching in the region. Like many communities in western Ukraine, they welcomed devotees in need.

The temple is a small and cozy one. Abhai-nitai Prabhu’s family was given shelter here. With a small child and his wife, he managed to get out of Irpin, the long-suffering suburb town next to Kyiv. Mataji Irina Vovk came here from the city of Mykolaiv, which is still being shelled by ballistic missiles. Devotees’ needs are very modest, about USD 250 a month.

Both Share Your Care team and Lviv Yatra are extremely grateful to ISKCON Canada for adopting the Lviv Yatra.

The Lviv yatra has played a unique role for Ukrainian devotees. Located on the western border of Ukraine, it hosted hundreds of devotees who were forced to flee their homes in the north, east and south of the country. This yatra provided emergency care to Vaisnavas. It did it especially in the first weeks of the war when there was a massive influx of Ukrainian citizens crossing the border with Poland. It was cold and people had sometimes been traveling for several days before reaching Lviv. The Vaisnavas launched a grand-scale Food For Life program. 200,000 portions of prasadam have been distributed to those in need. To this day, the FFL team is still rendering this service. They go to cities which are being shelled.

Despite the fact that the Lviv temple is under construction, it hosts 35-50 devotees. So far Share Your Care fund has been transferring USD 2000 to the yatra monthly. It has been enough to cover monthly bhoga and utility bills. You can find Vasuttama Prabhu’s report about Lviv yatra in this inspiring video.

Evacuation of Oleg Prabhu and His Family From Melitopol

Oleg prabhu is a vaishnava from Melitopol. The city has been occupied by Russian army since March. He needs our help to evacuate his family.

Oleg prabhu tells:

Since the war broke out, the city has been occupied, there are a lot of military men on the streets and right in front of our house. The city is shelled all the time, something explodes almost every night. Because of this, my wife often has panic attacks and, in general, she is depressed, all the side effects following (sleep disturbance, apathy and weakness in general). My son is 12 years old and, although he used to be very cheerful before the ear broke out, he does not even want to go to the seaside and be in the nature. My brother is also very depressed. The only thing that saves me is volunteering in Food for Life and the fact that I am immersed in helping other people and associating with like-minded people for half a day. But, when I come back home, it hurts to see my family like this and I can only help them when I leave for a safer place.

They have to pass a long way through the third countries because there is no guarantee to stay alive during front-line crossing. They have some savings but its not enough, they require another USD 1,400. Please, help to save the lives of Oleg prabhu and his family.
